Jonas Kunickas is a contemporary Lithuanian painter of exceptional style, whose work is dominated by the aesthetics of the human body, especially the genre of the female nude. The artist's calling card is a unique technique: instead of traditional brushes, he uses a spatula (palette knife). This allows him to create large, expressive strokes and a dynamic, relief texture on the canvas. In J. Kunickas' works, anatomical accuracy masterfully intertwines with abstraction. When viewed from close up, the painting looks like a chaotic collection of large color spots, but when you step back, a surprisingly lively figure, plasticity and emotional depth emerge.
