Evaldas Jansas is one of the most prominent and provocative contemporary Lithuanian artists, known for his performances, video art, photography and interdisciplinary projects. His work often explores themes of social exclusion, the human body, marginality, institutional power and societal norms. Jansas does not shy away from controversial artistic decisions, seeking to provoke the viewer to rethink established values and stereotypes. The artist’s works are characterized by straightforwardness, irony and a critical approach to social reality. His work occupies an important place in the history of contemporary Lithuanian art, as it boldly expands the boundaries of art and encourages public discussions about the relationship between art, society and the individual.
